Since the summer wedding season is almost over I had finally some time to put my new portfolio on the blog, I have met Ciaran and Emily in March and had a lovely time discussing what they would like on their wedding day. They wanted natural photography, nothing posed and I said that this is the right address because that is exactly what I do. They told be the wedding party will go on the bus from the church in Monkstown to the Fallons and Byrne in Town, I loved the idea and here are some sample photos, the wedding party wasn't big so it gave me a space and time to take more candid photos and the couple really enjoyed the day and their Big Day photo story. I really enjoyed every minute of my work that day.

This was a stormy day at Co.Wicklow's beautiful beach. But the couple love the sea and view, so the decision was made to go ahead anyway. Just before it started to rain heavily I captured this beautiful pre wedding portrait as the couple was unaware I was climbing up the dune. Embraced and happy, natural and fun, can't wait to meet them on their big day.

Of course every wedding is unique in its own way. This one is highlighted by the very important role played by the final touch to the brides look, this incredibly beautiful hair piece, which disappeared just as the bride was preparing to put it on. She made every effort not to get nervous, but the atmosphere tensed. Finally it was found in a car boot. Although the bride mentioned it was lovely, I didn't realise it was so special, until I opened the box in which it was held
- a hair piece that looked like a chain of raindrops

In this very simple, yet elegant, black and white newborn photo .w      e can see a recently captured loving embrace between a mother and her content little baby. A long journey was made to Galway to meet with the mum and dad of this little boy, yet it was all worth it to record this moment!

So, what can youexpect when booking me for such a session?

To fulfill my promise of providing comfort within your own home when completing at home booked photo session, I will travel with my equipment and a variety of props and accessories, such as backdrops which I used in the photo above. This is all so that your family is not placed in the unfamiliar setting of a studio and is in the relaxed, natural setting of a well known place - home!

There is no need to put pressure on yourself to have the house in a spotless condition, and if your baby didn't sleep well or behaves a bit differently than the usual day -which is common- there is no need to worry. I have gained 14 years of experience in family photography and am a mother myself.
Initially, have a set of clothing prepared for the baby and you can trust my assistant and me to do our best in all other technical aspects. Instructions as to how the session will run are listed below:

The sun is beginning to peek out from behind clouds and temperatures are on the rise! Summer is just around the corner and many photo sessions are taking place amidst nature: in parks, woods, gardens and beaches.
My favorite and busiest part of the year started off with this maternity photo session in Cabinteely Park in South Dublin. An ideal place for a session, always blooming with rich colour!
This mum to be must've taken inspiration from this scenery with her lovely floral printed outfit and dainty flower crown!
I am looking forward to photographing not only the bump but the baby too, when it arrives in May!
If you are looking for a similar session, you may ask about the packages and deals on my website

About a year ago I photographed this little girl when she was just learning to walk and talk. Now, at  two years old she has transformed into a very brave, independent child. Of course, her new baby sister was introduced in this session as well. Their fantastic photo story can seen here on a light, summery day in Dublin.
I really enjoy returning to and working with my baby models when they are a little bit older, the changes are amazing to see and it's always lovely to catch up with their parents!

Though this couples baby is only a bump, they were very excited to begin documenting the life of their arriving newborn and a session is booked in July for when their little bean enters the world. The father was over the moon when he heard his wife was pregnant he immediately went out to buy the baby shoes pictured above. More of this can be seen on my website!

Recently, the beautiful Neda visited my studio for a pregnancy session. It was overall an amazing experience. I was touched by their story of the emails they are writing to their baby, which she will open on her 18th birthday!
We had a very relaxed maternity session with her husband resulting in these natural photographs using warm lighting of the bump, and a family portrait was also taken of the expecting couple.

For a successful newborn session, please plan for your session to take place during the first 3-14 days after birth to help ensure a sleepy, relaxed baby.
When you book your session, I will tentatively plan for it to take place shortly after your due date (babies sometimes come early or late so I always maintain flexibility in my scheduling).

Once your baby is born, please notify me from the hospital and I will work with you to pick a date within 10 days of birth for your little one's first photo shoot.  Newborn sessions typically last from two to four hours to ensure we have time for multiple setup changes, feedings, and settling.
More on planning.

It is possible to discuss your ideas, sentimental props or poses you have in mind. It would just be beneficial if you let me know some time before the session. I plan your session in great detail and stick to poses I am a master at so suggesting an idea mid-session catches me off guard and can result in less than optimal images :) I have mentioned it many times before on this blog, my emails and on my website: your baby's safety comes first!
If there is ever a point where you or your baby become uncomfortable, just let me know! I take every measure to keep your baby safe. For that reason, I will always make sure that a parent or assistant is nearby to lend a hand if needed.
I am extremely gentle and patient with every baby I photograph however, do not be surprised if your baby is a bit unsettled, it is a first time experience for many!

I wanted to demonstrate the use of natural light in this is picture of the 9 day old baby V, using a few of my props.
This session was booked in early January and it everyone involved had a lovely day, baby V was very relaxed and content in her familiar setting. There was so much sun around the house that I used only one simple reflector and the window light with the blinds pulled down, as it was too bright!
I remember this day very well as I didn't have to struggle to find the best light around the house it was simply in every corner.

This little one, Esme, and her mum have been photographed in the stable, warm enviroment of their own home in a very calm atmosphere along with help of Esme's fantastic grandparents who come from Cork every weekend just to be with this little princess. An absolutely amazing experience photographing this beautiful family.

Winter Weddings and Christmas Weddings are one of my favorite subjects in photography. Though the weather is not always in our favour, the light may be surprisingly beautiful, creating a warm, soft effect in pictures. In this photograph we can see Abi & Steve on the beach just after their wedding ceremony, in Bray. The morning was cold and the sky was grey but it provided amazing natural light, no extra artificial lighting was needed! The beach was empty that gave us a space for finding the right angles and composition.
